Coralyn Cowin

Coralyn has been working in the areas of health, nursing and aged care since 1993, and has a long history with Star Gardens, beginning when she was employed at the original Clayfield site as an Assistant in Nursing in the early 1990’s. Coralyn then transferred her skills when the facility was relocated to Beaudesert, working in both low and high care areas. She was also the Diversional Therapist for a number of years.

Coralyn was a member of the Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) from 2000 – 2015, and has been a member of the Griffith University Mentor Program for Nursing students, the Queensland Palliative Care Association (PCQ), and Palliative Care Australia since 2004.

Prior to her career in health and aged care, Coralyn’s background included owning and managing a small business, where she strengthened her bookkeeping, human resource management, communication, time management, strategic planning and leadership skills.

Coralyn has been an Association Member for Star Gardens Home for the Aged since 1990. Toward the end of 2015, Coralyn re-joined Star Aged Living as a Director of the Board.

Coralyn volunteer positions include the Logan Village Museum, and the Queensland Cancer Council Beaudesert Branch for 20 years.
